This cake was fun because the couple are artsy people. The graphic designer groom specially designed his own invitation card which included a garden scene with his pets (Wally, the JRT, and two birds) and the bride and groom enjoying their wedding cake and tea.
So from there, we decided to have a little fun and recreate the garden scene but minus the bride and groom, because they were busy getting married in the church.
With mind boggling concern with detail, we recreated that garden scene in micro-mini proportions, and we made it out of Sculpey. See the dog, or the mini wedding cake with a slice sticking out? The roses on the cake were planted on using a tooth pick. Talk about eyes going crossed. Not something for the faint hearted, i tell you. BUT.. it was fun and extremely satisfying to have done a good job.
Why Sculpey? because it lasts and lasts.
The time it took was well worth the effort because now the couple can have a very special keepsake to remind them of their very beautiful wedding day. For years and years and years to come...
