After I completed this sewing project in February (I entitled it "From Ralph Lauren to OshKosh" lol) I found out there's a term for this kind of clothes! They are called "Upcycled Clothes". :D Somewhat like recycling pre-loved items, and adding/ changing/ improving an original piece to create a new piece: Upcycled Clothing....I like it! :)
What she's wearing was previously a pair of pants! :)
Wanna see this week's project? It's also upcycling a pair of pants:
I shortlisted four pieces of cloth and this red one got the biggest majority vote by three yays and one nay. ;)
Well, for this project, I tried a different way of upcycling because I didn't want to cut off the lovely flower detailing down the side. So, with some instructions from my mom, and also changing the worn out elastic waist band......this is what we've got!
Nice? :) I like it. My hubby thinks otherwise but it's ok to differ on this one, I think. Right, dear? ;)
Announcement! Blog Shop coming, Lord willing! ;)
Okok... my hubby's colleague was looking at the sewing I'm doing and told hubby that I could set up an Etsy shop. (Hi SC! Thanks for your kind thoughts and encouragment! :) )
I'm seriously thinking that it might be possible! But I'm needing help!
If anyone has hand-me-down denims that they don't need anymore, Please do find a way to pass it to me! :) I'll see if I can turn it into pocket money. ;)
And then, the other thing you could do to help is when the blog shop is up, you can tell your friends about it! yay! I'm excited!!! :D
Thank everyone reading this, in advance! heehee...
Proverbs 31:13 She seeketh wool, and flax, and worketh willingly with her hands.
So very cute! I love the nostalgic look of this, and so will everyone else...err...except maybe your hubby. LOL! God's blessings on your new endeavor, my friend!

I am so inspired by you, Suwei. You can bake, cook, sew, sing, play the piano, conduct choirs, train voices, mother, wife, woman, ... I admire all these qualities of homemaking you have.
Wonder if you could hold a class to teach clothes sewing? I'd love to learn...
Thanks for being the woman this generation needs...

Dear Eileen,
One common thing I notice about your dear family is the graciousness of your speech. :)
God can use nobodys to do big jobs, that's what a child of God placed in His hands can do. Amen?
As for teaching sewing, well ask me that in 5 years' time. I'm only a novice with loads and loads to learn. :p
blessings,
Suwei
