belated post. very late. but needs to be done. ;p Homeschooling life is indeed exciting and full of things to do. So, as usual, when I'm not posting, it's usually because I'm caught up with.... real life. :) I delivered a wedding cake on polling day! And then I was busy sewing dresses for my dollies, and then my children had the opportunity to be "art ambassadors" at the Singapore Arts Fest... but I'll leave that to posts to come. This post, I want to share how my children were caught up in voting fever. lol
A days leading up to Polling Day were sunny sunny sunny. We were going through a hot, dry spell!
The last elections, my children were 5 years younger (6, 4, 2, and 6 mths i think. *count count*) So they didn't understand much. Well, this elections, I had the pleasure of explaining to them the workings of a democratic society and some of the key issues that we were facing this elections.
Turned out they learn a bit! One hot evening, after one hot afternoon, my eldest (no. 1, now 11yrs) asked his papa if we could turn on the airconditioning to sleep. (We don't usually do so.) When papa hesitated, no. 1 jumped in and excitedly suggested that we put it to a vote!
He and his siblings took a box, made a slit, and he tore some slips of paper and drew a fan and an air con on it and he got everyone to vote (secretly) (but we all know the outcome before even counting the votes, haha) and then drop their slips into the box.
The Voting Slips.
The voting slips were poured on the table and counted. No surprises that aircon party won. haha
Papa said that the children have to finish their chores before he decided if we could have the aircon on, to which in reply no.1 quipped we're not Potong Pasir. :p
Then papa decided we were a monarchy and the king would decide.
Thankfully, our benevolent king allowed his loyal subjects some reprieve that night. :D
Homeschooling is so full of fun and it is a great excitment to watch our children grow and flourish at home!

Aww, Wendy, how sweet of you! :)
Awesome mom, I'm never entirely sure, but God is so good to help me through my many shortcomings. :)
I'm glad this blog has encouraged you to consider homeschooling. May the Lord lead you every step of the way.
Blessings,
Suwei
