It seems like no. 1's prime creative moments are early in the morning before I'm awake. All over the island, factory workers change shift, school going kids are dragging themselves onto the school bus, the neighbour's cockerels start getting active, and me, I'm hung-over from the previous night's feeding the baby. my no. 1, at 6 plus in the morning is busy... this time, building a strong tower.
This is a game that started some time back with papa. Building the highest tower.
Now, no. 1 (thanks to all the Nat Geo shows about building the highest, strongest structures) has set his sights "higher". These days, he thinks about structures that are structurally sound. And recently, his good papa taught him about triangulation.
He says he got the inspiration for this design from the Eiffel Tower in Paris.
Before he left for hua yu ban, (Chinese class), he asked his sister and brother not to knock his tower down. I know he would be very upset if one of them comes along and destroys his work.
Unfortunately, when he was away, his sister was rolling the swing cart around the house and accidentally dashed it. She was very sorry when I told her kor kor will be upset and told her to confess to him and ask him for forgiveness. Which she did, the moment she saw him.
Surprisingly, he wasn't angry! When he came home, he surveyed his broken tower and announced, "Good! The base is still standing! It works!"
Later in the evening, he was playing with his blocks again. Remember what I said about his fascination with all things to do with fighting? .....
I'm resigned. Boys will be boys, agree?
Psalms 18:19 The name of the LORD is a strong tower: the righteous runneth into it, and is safe.
