The good papa of the Ong family decided to take out the tent and give the children (and the neighbour's kid) an experience of sleeping in a tent under the stars (in the park real near our place). No permit one.
My children are very blessed to have a papa who loves to spend time with them playing and doing stuff like that. To the point my no. 1 cannot understand the reality of abusive fathers who would beat up their own children or things like that. It just doesn't click in his mind because of his own experience with his own father.
I didn't sleep out though. :OP Not that I didn't want to. Really. The BABY is still waking up in the middle of the night to suckle.
I mentioned the tent, but not only that, he got out the hammock and Manila bed and camping stove and served me a meal of maggi mee! My man was in his element. :O)
That's me relaxing in the hammock. Quite comfy for 3 mins. I don't know about sleeping in it a whole night though...
We skewered some Tays chicken nuggets and the children had the chance of toasting them over the disposeable bbq pit.
THings got even more exciting when papa managed to get the fire started with the sticks and firewood the children scavanged in the evening time.
Then it was sparkler time with Baby wanting to get in on the action (but he preferred to stay on the chair the whole time without getting down.)
They fell asleep before they could see the night time stars. I slept comfortably enough. :OP You know the lesson to all this, don't you? Don't wait too long to have children if not you'll be too tired to do any of these things with your kids. :OP Kidding.
