While I was at the SAS County Fair on Saturday morning, busy grabbing tons of books, the rest of the family was at the Singapore AirShow (with the rest of Singapore, apparently.) I bought $94 worth of books this year, priced at $0.50 and $1, mostly chapter books this year. No. 1 needs to read more wordy books now.
After I finished shopping and lugged the books home, I received a dismal sms from my dearest:
Disaster... tired.. A lot of queuing.. tired kids... No water cooler... $2 drink and ice cream... :-(
Poor things. The queues were frightful and snaking. The queue to take the shuttle bus in from Pasir Ris MRT snaked around the MRT and White Sands. And when they finally got to the AirShow, there was another horrendous queue to get past the security checking, x-rays. When they finally got in 2 hours later, no. 3 (4 yrs) whined "papa... I want to go home."
:OP But soldier on, papa must. And so he did.
The aerial display was impressive, though the intervals between the "sorties" were somewhat long. At night, no. 1 (8 yrs) was using chopsticks and choreographing his own aerial display maneuvers. haha..
The A380 airbus was a monster of a plane. Wow. The tail is 7 storeys high, is it? Phew. They didn't get a tour around the plane, though. Queue was too discouragingly long.
The photographs they took does show that they did have some fun despite the downsides they encountered. I particularly love the frozen pose no. 4 was caught in in last pic, even though it is blurry.
Cute huh? :O)
That's a lot of field tripping for our little homeschoolers. Learning outside the classroom and beyond books- experiencing the real thing. That's what it's all about.
Blessings!
