This is a one week late post. We went with some of our church brethren to this out-doorsy outfit at Bedok Reservoir called Forest Adventure. You can read more details at their website. It was really fun! There's a kids course and a bigger kids to adult's course called the Grand Course.
For those with a fear for heights, it's actually very safe. Here's no. 2 with one of the staff on hand to guide the kids through the course. (But the kids must walk through themselves. And they are clipped to the safety line throughout the course.
Here's no. 3 before he started deciding it was too scary for him. Poor thing bawled most of the rest of the way. But I felt it was a good lesson in overcoming fear. We had a talk the morning after and he agreed that actually he could do it, it was just that it was too high up for him. I asked him what if everything was the same except it was only 5 cm off the ground, could he have done it? He nodded and understood that it's just the height element that made it scary for him and he needed to overcome that.
Naturally, we also talked about praying to Jesus whenever we are afraid.
Yes, this is how far off the ground it is. Some kids can do the whole course (all of it 5 meters off the ground) without blinking.
Here's no.1 fully enjoying himself. Especially so because he had the company of his best buddy cousin with him. :)
Below is hubby doing his kung fu scene flying across the water. The zip line is hardly visible in this picture. heehee.
Well, the thing is, halfway through doing the course that day, there was a lighting warning and so we all had to head on back. We all received vouchers to go back on another day to do the course again! So that'll be sometime this holidays, hopefully. :O)
