I received a bread machine a couple of weeks ago. It's been such a blessing to me and my family. We've been having really yummy, freshly baked bread. On days when I'm too busy to make some and have to buy off the shelf, it's with reluctance because we're getting so spoilt eating the good stuff!
To date, (like since oct 5th) I've experimented with bacon and cheese bread, fruit and nuts bread (which was raisins, apricots and walnuts), herb bread (oregano and rosemary, mmmmm) and whole meal bread. The bacon and cheese one was a big hit. We polished off an entire large loaf in one meal. :p
Then, we've also done pizza with a dough recipe sent to me by my dear BaptistBoard friend in South Carolina. Mmmmmm....nothing like homemade pizza dough! Had trouble stretching it nice and round, though. But, well, the messier, the more evidence that it's homemade. heehee.
And then, after looking around the WWW, I found lots of interesting things to do with bread dough. Like make a Harvest Loaf! My very first ART BREAD! So happy. Used it to decorate our Church Anniversary cake last Sunday.
Last night, I made hamburger buns and we had it with chicken, cheese and salad veges (which included rocket and lettuce.) Sooo yummy! The buns were all different sizes coz I don't know how to do them uniform size yet. But, well, I served the smallest ones to the younger kids. :P
Well, all I can say is, learning to make bread (or having a bread machine, actually) has really expanded our menu. :)
God, whatever You place in my hands, may I be a good steward and multiply it for Your Glory!
Ecclesiastes 9:10 Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do it with thy might; for there is no work, nor device, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in the grave, whither thou goest.
