My children get into interesting little projects that they carry out without any supervision from me. No. 3 (6 yrs) was watching TV and got inspired by Pegasus (or some kind of winged horse.) Yes, all the things that filter through to the children through the TV....
So... he gathered all the little toy horse figurines and gave them wings.
Yep, then no. 2 and 4 joined in and gave them names as well.... haha
See, you know I would have nothing to do with this coz my mind cannot keep up with their kind of imaginative powers.
So, Papa gave the children some time doing some wood craft (With minimum supervision, even with that scary scroll saw... I can't bear to look.) And they all (except for baby) had a chance to "express themselves" with wood. They drew out the shapes on the wood with pencils and then used the scroll saw to cut it out. They like to come home and show me that they still have 10 fingers in tact.
And no. 3 decided to make his Pegasus. Papa helped to guide him with the wing joint.
Isn't that quirky? I love it!
They painted it with acrylic paint at home. Acrylic paint and unsupervised children is another story altogether but our parquet flooring tells all sorts of tales of woe.....
And my little no. 4 (4 yrs) had a go at sawing too! (I said I can't bear to look....) But he did a great job!
Oops, correction from dh. It was no. 3 who cut it for no. 4. :)
And this was no. 1's King Arthur inspired sword. He loves. anything. weapon/war/soldier...It's pretty cool because it is tapered to a blade. The sword detatches from the stone.
And thank God for a little 8 yr old girl to balance all that testosterone.... :) It's meant to be a pencil stand.
Indeed, I believe I am reaping part of the rewards of this blessing!(though still work in progress!):
Proverbs 29:17 Correct thy son, and he shall give thee rest; yea, he shall give delight unto thy soul.
