Hee hee... so you sew one dress, you can sew another.. and with a different piece of cloth, you can get quite a different effect! (See the CNY dress here.)
When I discovered that after sewing a black skirt for myself, I had quite a bit of cloth left over, I imagined that I wanted to sew a dress for baby no 5 with a sash around the waist. I ended up sewing one with the rose pattern cloth for CNY before I got on to doing the black dress that started it all.
Well, I'm glad it turned out quite nicely. :D
I was talking to hubby the day I finished this dress. I told him that the clothes that I sew for our children are not to be passed outside of the family but they will be family heirlooms. Wow, what an awesome thought! I want my grandchildren to be wearing what their grandma sewed!
And then, oh dear, they can look closely at the seams and say, look! porpor made a mistake here.
hahaha...
Well, I hope to keep improving on the workmanship. ;) Hubby dear says I ought to put some kind of tag inside the clothes to authenticate it as done by me.
Ecclesiastes 2:24 There is nothing better for a man, than that he should eat and drink, and that he should make his soul enjoy good in his labour. This also I saw, that it was from the hand of God.
Amen! What a blessing.
U can buy "Made with love" or "sewn with love" type of clothes tags from Spotlight. I used to put those on the clothes I did. I also did shirts for hubs and the boys plus matching romper for baby. The only shirt that is still around is hubs' shirt though! We didn't bother to keep. I think I gave away my daughter's first communion dress too that I sewed.
