I'm doing a quick post to say I'm ready for March to be over! :p It's been one thing after another, and things happening at the same time... David Cloud Seminars, our new homeschooler choir, upcoming birthdays, two weddings (one past, one coming on Saturday)...
My bestest baking buddy Sis Carol is getting married on Saturday so that means wedding rehearsals, wedding cake, finding something to wear...
What to wear for the wedding? As I was saying in my last dressing/clothing post:
For years, I had been feeling so defeated about finding modest clothes at the department stores. I would just throw my hands in the air and give up on shopping and go home sulking and blame the world for selling clothes like that. Well, no more. Now that I have picked up sewing, I'm going to alter clothes to bring them up to standard! The other day, I was at Metro and my mind was racing thinking of all the possiblities that are now opened up to me now that I can sew and alter clothes. hahahah.... I'm soooo excited! :D
So for Carol's wedding, this is exactly what I did! I bought a dress with the intention of doing an A&A (addition and alteration) on it! haha!! I managed to get this short dress extended already (adding to the March Maddness busy-ness). Will share pics of it after its debut at the wedding. :p
Wedding Cake: I'm currently in the process of getting the wedding cake done. I split up the work into several days so that it is not so taxing on any one day. I can still manage to do school with the children and supervise housework as well, besides doing some baking. Pics of the cake soon too!:)
I am really really glad that my children are now old enough to be of much help here and there in the process of doing a wedding cake. Bestest Baking Buddy position has been taken! :D Looking back, I can't imagine how on earth I did so many wedding cakes with so many little children running around, and often, while nursing every 3 hours! I wonder at myself! It surely is the Lord's help. Nothing else can explain it.
God is so Good! Through all the busy-ness, it is good to remember the Lord and His goodness. As a result of the Keeping the Kids sessions with bro David Cloud, we have spoken to our older children individually about repentance and salvation. We are praying that the Lord will save our children. I do intend to share at length about this (when march is over!!!) :)
This picture was taken at the first march wedding, the wedding of our dear bro ZM. It was at Raffles country club. Gorgeous view, isn't it?
Psalms 127 Lo, children are an heritage of the Lord: and the fruit of the womb is his reward.
So the wedding was conducted by Shalom Baptist Church and it was an exciting time for me when I met moms who came up to me to thank me for this blog or just to say hi. :) (The groom told me to post more about Christian dressing standards! lol) It was really special for me and I'm just glad that the Lord sees it fit to use this blog to build up His people.
Ok, so much for a "quick post". :)
