Folks love to ask how I manage homeschooling 6 kids. Well, I always reply, by the grace of God. And these days, I can also say, I don't homeschool all by myself. I have a host of help, especially for the older children. For instance, the eldest son now goes out twice a week for science lessons in preparation for his O levels (including the science lab for experiments.) Also, the kids who have an opportunity to learn an instrument have really wonderful music teachers (flute and cello). Family and friends too, I am very grateful for their help on a weekly basis.
Today's post, I wanted to highlight how the children help each other and make learning fun! Our dear 10 year old son is very craft-sy and he knew that our pre-schooler is learning the R sound with Ricky Rabbit in ACE. The kids went out to our MacDonald's the other night to get some dessert of apple pie. He used the paper carrier and made it into a Ricky Rabbit puppet! The cool thing is that he made a mechanism that moves the arm when when the mouth moves. He thought of using a satay stick to join the head part to the arm. I really appreciate these moments of genius. :)
and here's a video of our little missy showing off her new puppet!
